Role Summary

Available Shift:

- Wednesday - Saturday; 6:00am - 4:30pm

 

The Repairs Supervisor oversees the repair process for women’s clothing. They will supervise and coordinate the day-to-day repair workload, ensure a proper workflow, and ensure the department UPH & CPU costs are met daily.  They will need to work on the floor at least 75% of the time, providing oversight to the repair department, coaching, training and mentoring when needed.  Additionally, supervise and manage indirect roles such as Repair Lead, Repair Inspection Specialist, and Repair Inspectors, making sure repaired units are inspected and returned to active pick on time.  

This individual must have a general understanding of first-line level leadership and supervision and must be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  In addition, supervision and proper utilization of space, equipment, and to ensure safety and compliance with all rules and regulations outlined in the facility.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support Repairs Manager with day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Plan and schedule all Repair Department services including machine and hand sewing repairs, shaving, and repairs inspections.  Make sure supplies are stocked for all repair processes.  Manage and maintain button inventory. 
  • Maintain an associate-centered workplace through floor time, associate engagement, and an open-door policy.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team, training when needed.
  • Ensure Inbound Repair Racks are organized to reduce garment aging. 
  • Oversee the daily operation (which may include monitoring inspectors, machine sewers, hand sewers, and shavers).
  • Clearly define daily and weekly objectives for the repair department.   Champion successes and address areas of opportunity.
  • Track, report, and explain department metrics.
  • Identify, champion, and implement process improvements.
  • Forecast staffing requirements based on established repairs and backlog; adjust as the business warrants.
  • Ensure that budgeted service levels are met (or exceeded).
  • All other duties assigned by the Repair Manager.

Role Qualifications

  • 3+ years supervising a team in a production, distribution, manufacturing or call center.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace - Excel and Word.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of garment construction and garment alterations.
  • Knowledge of garment manufacturing is a plus. 
  • Understanding of professional sewing machines, sergers, blind hem machines. 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and reporting skills
  • Excellent leadership, team building, communication and organizational skills
  • Comprehend and follow work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk throughout a shift 
  • Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods 
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time
  • Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds 
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position which requires coordinated movements (industrial sewing machines, sergers)
