Role Summary

A supplies equipment operator lead is a motivated team player with exceptional organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a goal-oriented, multitasking environment with attention to detail. This role serves as the frontline lead for equipment operators and material handlers, ensuring the efficient flow of inbound and outbound materials, execution of warehouse tasks, and adherence to supply thresholds throughout the facility. The ideal candidate brings hands-on equipment operation experience along with strong leadership, communication, and organization skills. 

 

KC1 D410C (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm)

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Purchasing Team and supply floor personnel; translate procurement directives into actionable warehouse tasks.
  • Provide daily task direction, assignment oversight, and performance coaching to a team of material handlers and equipment operators.
  • Facilitate team huddles, prioritize tasks based on inbound schedules and supply needs, and reassign resources as needed to meet daily goals.
  • Communicate supply shortages, overages, and delays promptly to procurement and leadership teams.
  • Oversee receiving, put-away, replenishment, and material movement across multiple warehouse zones.
  • Maintain and monitor satellite supply thresholds, ensuring timely replenishment and escalation of supply gaps.
  • Pays close attention to detail and sustains productivity.
  • Lead organization and cleanliness efforts in all supply staging and racking zones (5S).
  • Operate and oversee safe use of warehouse equipment including high-reach forklifts, electric pallet jacks, stand-up forklifts, and RF scanning devices.
  • Ensure all operators follow proper safety and handling procedures in compliance with internal policies and OSHA standards.
  • Train new material handlers and equipment operators on SOPs, safety guidelines, and general warehouse procedures.
  • Serve as an escalation point for floor-level questions and challenges before involving management.
  • Monitor productivity and quality of supply movements and provide real-time feedback and support to team members.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and flexibility.
  • Reads and follows written instruction.

  • Uses RF (radio frequency) terminals.
  • All other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager

Role Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school degree or GED required
  • 1 to 2 years of equivalent job experience; team building and leadership skills
  • Works well under pressure and time constraints, dependable and with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent organizational and efficiency skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and must be able to work overtime as required 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Stand and walk throughout a shift 
  • Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods 
  • Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds 
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position (i.e. pallet jack, box cutter, carts) which requires coordinated movements
