Role Summary

The Maintenance Technician 3 brings over 5 years of invaluable electromechanical equipment experience, coupled with extensive maintenance expertise within manufacturing or distribution facilities. Their role encompasses the comprehensive management of electrical systems, including Profibus / Profinet, scanners, ASI network, and climate control systems. They excel in troubleshooting and leading installation, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and modifications of conveyors, ASRS, Auto-baggers sortation, electrical and controls, site and building lighting, and mechanical systems.

With a resolute demeanor, they exhibit strong leadership qualities, impeccable organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. These leaders adeptly identify problems as they arise and promptly implement suitable solutions. Thriving in dynamic and multitasking environments, they consistently uphold a meticulous eye for detail. Role Responsibilities

  • Assists with recommendations on equipment upgrades, analysis of operation parameters of equipment, and other requirements to support operations.
  • Apply and develop technical experience to improve and maintain both short- and long-term goals for Automation equipment. 
  • Partner directly with 3rd party vendors for Technical Development of self and team. partner with 3rd party vendors for SME development. 
  • Participates in semi-complex maintenance tasks, equipment trial runs, investigative tests, troubleshooting equipment failures, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Standardizes and sustains parameters during equipment operation, thus permitting the timely release of orders and meeting functional, cosmetic, and other quality control specifications.
  • Maintains documents of all inspections, maintenance, and repair work, and failures using our CMMS. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc.
  • Performs complex and technically demanding work within a technical area of expertise.
  • Assists lead and supervisor with Predictive Maintenance Strategies.  Participates in the assessment of Automation equipment performance and recommends modifications or improvements.
  • Assists in equipment-related recommendations that will secure improvements in productivity, efficiency, cost control, and product quality.
  • Assists with maintaining SOPs and related documents, subordinates in maintenance and operation of equipment, and all other job functions within assigned areas under the guidance of the Lead/Supervisor/Manager.
  • Helps implement methods that will maximize the reliability of production and/or facilities equipment within its limitations.
  • Monitors and controls equipment in assigned areas to ensure equipment operation within written SOP guidelines.
  • Assists in monitoring daily performance of production and/or facilities equipment. Will assist and consult subordinates in technical issues used in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Identifies equipment failures that may affect performance and recommends corrective action.
  • Helps compile weekly and/or monthly reports to identify results as they pertain to operational standards.
  • Ensures equipment operation, maintains company CMMS, and ensures required documentation is compiled and retained.
  • Be available for emergency callbacks and flexible toward the daily start schedule and overtime requirements, including holidays and plant shutdowns.
  • Adhere to all safety codes, puts safety first, and practice for self and others throughout the plant.
  • Participates in training less experienced techs on semi-complex problems, operations, and services.
  • Respond to and correct equipment faults while providing guidance to Operations and Less Experienced Technicians.
  • Secondary Responsibility: Work closely with facilities support and housekeeping teams to coordinate and execute all necessary tasks assigned to the maintenance support team promptly. By fostering collaboration among these departments, we ensure that our facility remains clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.

Role Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school degree or equivalent with specialized coursework
  • Minimum of 5+ years related maintenance experience in trade skills including welding, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, instrumentation, forklifts, building construction, conveyor
  • 5 years of maintenance experience with electromechanical equipment experience
  • Electromechanical skills, troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, servos, and other discrete electrical control components
  • Ability to interpret and understand maintenance manuals and electrical equipment schematics
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial electrical and equipment mechanics
  • Ability to safely operate motorized heavy equipment
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and must be able to work overtime as required  

 Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk throughout a shift 
  • Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods 
  • Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds 
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position (i.e. pallet jack, box cutter, carts) which requires coordinated movements
